On the One-Year Anniversary of the Vote for the “Big Beautiful Bill,” Doctors and Community Leaders Launch 3-Day Statewide Ambulance Tour to Show the Impact of Healthcare Cuts on Communities Throughout Wisconsin
One year ago on the Fourth of July 2025, Trump signed the Big Ugly Bill into law — Tom Tiffany along with every other Wisconsin GOP member of Congress voted for the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill,” which will lead to over 250,000 Wisconsinites losing health care access and has already resulted in the closure of 2 hospitals and puts 5 more at risk of closure.
Milwaukee, WI — As Wisconsin approaches the one-year anniversary of the day Trump signed the Big Beautiful Bill into law, this is not a date to let pass quietly. The damage is already here: families squeezed by rising healthcare and insurance costs and care harder to reach across the state. And the worst is still ahead — the bill’s deepest cuts are scheduled to hit after this fall’s midterm elections, meaning healthcare in Wisconsin is critical now and getting worse.
On Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026 at 11 a.m., Wisconsin doctors and area voters will gather outside Columbia Saint Mary’s Hospital to kick off a three-day, seven-city tour — Milwaukee, Racine, La Crosse, Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Wausau, and DePere — with a decommissioned ambulance, calling Tom Tiffany and every other Wisconsin Republican member of Congress who voted to cut healthcare and prioritize tax cuts for billionaires over working Wisconsinites.
The same six congressmen — Tom Tiffany, Bryan Steil, Derrick Van Orden, Scott Fitzgerald, Glenn Grothman, and Tony Wied — also shut down the government last year to let ACA tax credits expire, raising insurance premiums for thousands of Wisconsin families and small businesses and making health insurance unaffordable for millions across the country.
Wisconsin families are coming together to demand an end to MAGA Extremism. They want leaders who put families first, not tax cuts for billionaires.
The Big Beautiful Bill has already resulted in two Wisconsin healthcare facilities closing. A recent study by Public Citizen reports that another five Wisconsin hospitals are at risk of closing due to the bill, including hospitals to be visited during this ambulance tour.
