Heart of the North 7th Congressional District Picnic

Democratic Candidates Potluck Picnic Set for August 8

You’re invited to a picnic on Saturday, August 8 in the great North Woods to hear from local and statewide Democratic candidates running in the August 11 primary election. The Democratic Party of Sawyer County and Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation is hosting the picnic to give everyone a chance to meet Democratic candidates.

Join your 7th Congressional District friends and neighbors from noon to 5 p.m., August 8, at Ojibwa Town Park, W7911 State Highway 70 between the village of Ojibwa and Winter. The potluck begins at noon and candidates will start speaking at 2 p.m. Bring a chair and beverage, and a dish to share if you wish.

Meet governor candidate Francesa Hong and state treasurer candidate Yee Leng Xiong. Congressional candidates Fred Clark and Ginger Murray will also attend, along with 73rd Assembly representative Angela Stroud, 74th Assembly candidate Paul Johnson, and 75th Assembly candidate Keith Mogel. All Democratic candidates have been invited.

Mike Wiggins, former chairperson of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, will give the keynote address at 2 p.m. Music will be provided by John Sonofmel and Eric Schubring. Candidates and vendor tables will be on site also.
