Rally Cry In Wausau
Around five hundred people took to the 400 Block on Sunday, July 10, to voice their outrage regarding the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling. As one of the organizers of this event, I cannot even find the words to say how proud I am of the youth I engaged with. You rock. To the familiar faces I saw, thank you for your ongoing engagement. Thank you to several of our local groups who reach out with information and help. You’ve looked at the adversity in the area and turned it around in a meaningful way. i admire you. On a personal level, thank you to my daughter who stood with me. She understands I had more rights than she now does. We are all in this ...
Northcentral Chapter of WI Poor People’s Campaign
After attending the Poor People's Campaign led Poor and low-wage workers' assembly and Moral march on Washington and to the polls on June 18th, I have had cause to reflect on where I stand at this moment in history. I have come to believe humanity ebbs and flows as a tide, and on that day, I saw the beginnings of righteousness flowing down as a river, and justice like a mighty stream.
I have never once shied away from speaking my mind. I have also never once been afraid to dive headlong into uneasy and controversial discussions even to the unintentional ruffling of feathers of the flock with which I fly. I try to educate myself and others as ...
Become a Poll Worker
We trust election results because we trust election officials.
In Wisconsin, 1,852 municipal clerks have been trained to administer elections. Some municipalities are large enough to have deputy clerks, who are also trained. Each polling place has multiple election workers who are also trained regarding Wisconsin election laws and must be certified by the municipal clerk. These clerks and poll workers are our friends and neighbors who step up to help with a vital civic process.
Now, a new “army” is being recruited and trained by partisan actors who question the integrity of our friends and neighbors. They want to disrupt the electoral ...
The World of Botched Abortions
Ward 41 of the old Cook County Hospital in Chicago was home to the department of “septic obstetrics,” which was code for the botched abortions women underwent in the 1960s. Between 1961 and 1965, doctors treated over 20,000 women after their illegal abortions. Their patients were desperate, and they had no other options.
Sixty years later, the U.S. Supreme Court has placed us in a new, horrific scenario. Medication abortion is available and safe, but people who seek and doctors who provide abortion care could be risking jail in some states. The court has turned this issue over to extremist state legislators who are increasingly removed from the ...
Abortion?! In the Bible?!
Abortion is not in the Bible! This is claimed over and over by many Theistic commentators. A-B-O-R-T-I-O-N, the word, is not found in the Bible. However, many references to the termination of pregnancy are found. The termination of pregnancy is abortion.
First, there is Hosea 13:16. From the King James Version: “16 Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.”
Today, in Israel Samaria is known as the West Bank.

Wisconsin Primary and Strategic Voting
Wisconsin has a primary election on August 9th. How much do people know about the candidates and issues for this election? Local local news sources offer little of value. This article tries to help people in Douglas County and NW Wisconsin get the information they need to be informed voters.
Primary elections are just as important as the general election. If you don't have good candidates winning the primary you don't have good choices later and we all wind up with bad political leadership.
To begin with, people in Douglas County need to be aware that their Wisconsin Assembly district has changed. The latest version of gerrymandering has ...
Save the Menominee River
Did you know that the Menominee River flows into the Bay of Green Bay and continues all the way to Lake Michigan? Should we be willing to poison that much water? Our happy PEACEFUL group protested on Friday, July 1, letting the public know we are always fighting to keep our water safe from sulfide mining. We were approached by a Menominee police officer who was very angry. We took down the sign that we were told was illegal to have attached to a corner pole per his request. We were then told we were not allowed to walk in front of the Ogden Club at all. I’m pretty darn sure we have a right to PEACEFULLY protest on a PUBLIC ...

Vote Blue
Whether at the gas pump or supermarket, we are all feeling the impacts of higher prices. While Republicans have pointed fingers at President Biden and Democrats, these attacks are hypocritical and unjustified.
The causes of inflation include the global pandemic and Putin’s war of choice in Ukraine. And while Democrats have been working tirelessly to lower costs for families, Republican politicians have actively voted against solutions.
Trump’s failure to address the pandemic sent our economy into a recession and caused the unemployment rate to surge from 3.8% to 14.8%. In one year, President Biden led a historic economic recovery that ...
