The Election Integrity Scam
“The trouble with practical jokes is that very often they get elected.” Will Rogers, a 1930-40s
comedian.
Unqualified candidates for public office are nothing new and too often they get elected. This
year in Wisconsin we have an abundance of candidates running for office with few, if any,
qualifications. It may be unkind to call them “jokes.” People should be encouraged to
volunteer for public office, but they should have some basic qualifications. Just because
everyone has a right to run doesn't mean they should.
Some candidates for the Wisconsin Secretary of State not only are unqualified but they have
other motivations than ...

2022 State Democratic Convention
In response to the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler, 1st Vice Chair Felesia Martin, and 2nd Vice Chair Lee Snodgrass issued the following statement:
“Today, the Supreme Court, aided and abetted by anti-abortion extremists in Congress, has failed our country and state by taking away Americans’ right to make their own medical decisions. Overturning Roe v. Wade directly contradicts the will of the public, advice of countless medical professionals, and decades of settled precedent and jurisprudence. As a result of this decision, Wisconsin’s 1849 abortion ban is now enforceable, and ...
July 4, What a Strange Day This Will Be
It’s an understatement to say that most of us have to swallow REALLY hard to show patriotism to a country that just overturned Roe, and one in which an entire party is still parroting the “Big Lie” that has been repeatedly disproven for the last year and a half, but most recently by courageous Republican witnesses in the January 6 hearings.
How do we watch fireworks and listen to the “Stars and Stripes” when our country is so sick?
Well, like any good Midwesterner, I’d suggest channeling our innate passive aggression, putting on a happy face, pushing the dirt under the rug, and trying to have a good time--because gosh darn it, ...
Why?
“A 21st Century Vision for America: Guiding Principles for a Great Nation,” provides a practical, plain language vision of “our country as most Americans would want it to be. Created by Gary J. Evans, PhD (a business management consultant) it has 25 statements of what a better America would be and how it would work.
In his America everyone has affordable healthcare, free education, a decent job, and no one goes hungry or lacks shelter. There are no barriers to voting. Elections are fair, and trustworthy. Everyone has equal rights under the law, no one is harassed by police, and our prisons are much smaller. Taxes are fair, easy to file, and ...
Standing With Healthcare Professionals
After three calendar years on the frontlines of the pandemic and over 8 months of bargaining in good faith with Aspirus Health, healthcare workers are joining together with their neighbors to demand a fair contract from Aspirus, who received millions in federal relief money while the frontlines remain in a staffing crisis. Together, we can win better wages and working conditions and create a better environment for our patients!
A fair contract can keep nurses at the bedside where patients need them, but unfortunately, Aspirus refuses to listen. On Monday, June 27 we won't be silenced! Stand with Wisconsin Federation of Nurses and Health Professio...
Democracy 101: Senator Agard’s Guide to Engaging in Our Government
Due to the outpouring of concern and interest, especially after the recent Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision by the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) overruling Americans constitutional right to abortion and severely threatening the progress we’ve made as a nation over the past half-century, I have created this resource guide for all who are looking to help shape our collective future. Below you will find a menu of options for folks who are looking to unite, engage, and get to work defending reproductive freedom. Please share this with your networks as you see fit and know that this list is by no means exhaustive, and there is ...
Ruminations On The 2022 Wisconsin Elections
There is good news and bad news about this year's upcoming Wisconsin elections. On the positive side, the 7th Congressional district in N.W. Wisconsin finally has a declared Democratic candidate. In the U.S Senate race four good Democratic candidates are pulling ahead in the crowded field. All of them are a breath of fresh air in comparison to the Republican incumbent. Governor Evers should have a good chance at being re-elected given the economy is pretty good and Biden's infrastructure and COVID relief money are helping many people in the state.
On the negative side the widely supported effort to end undemocratic gerrymandering of state and ...
